     The bokken is a heavy wooden sword that is usually used for sword training.  The first practices with a sword are done with the bokken, but after that, most styles leave it alone.  However, the ninja realized its usefulness as a weapon in battle.  It is light, and therefore easy to carry.  It isn’t sharpened, and so there is little risk to the ninja during battle.  Because it is made of wood, the bokken can easily be camouflaged and hidden.  Also, when using the bokken correctly, it can do great damage to internal organs and break bones quite easily.
